Are you generally early, or always late? God isn't. He is always just on time. Not a 'just in time' like if you had to run to catch the bus and just made it, God doesn't arrive apologetically puffing and panting. No, God is on time, in His time and always at just the right time.

Looking at the big picture through history, God promised for the sin broken world that there would be a time of restoration of the relationship between Himself and people. He declared that He knew the right way and the right time. 'The Lord says: "At just the right time, I will respond to you. On the day of salvation I will help you. I will protect you and give you to the people as my covenant with them."' (Isaiah 49:8)

Then God delivered His restoration plan in Jesus.

We can read that when we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. (Romans 5:6) We can receive that restored relationship with God, and anytime is a good time to do that.

The Bible goes on to say, "At just the right time, I heard you. On the day of salvation, I helped you." Indeed, the 'right time' is now. Today is the day of salvation. (2 Corinthians 6:2)

There is also a clear promise of hope for the future that "At just the right time Christ will be revealed from heaven by the blessed and only almighty God, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords." (1 Timothy 6:15)

No matter the state of play in the world God has a plan and He is on time.

In the big picture of God's salvation plan everything came together at just the right time, but what about in our little picture individual lives?

Sometimes we are worried that maybe God doesn't know our circumstances and that He will not come through for us. We worry about ourselves and our loved ones, our safety and provision; but we can be assured that our times are in His hands. If our time is not up then God won't allow us to be taken. We can trust Him.

Yes, sometimes prayers are not answered in the way we want them to be, but that does not make God untrustworthy.

Jesus taught us not to worry about everyday life. He said "Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren't you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?"

So today may we take a step back from our worries and know that God moves for us at just the right time.

Let's not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don't give up. (Galatians 6:9)
