Howard Drummond considers what confidence in Jesus looks like

Continued from page 2

In the New King James version, Hebrews 4:16 says, 'come boldly' come with 'confidence' to receive your reward of grace and mercy; come without reservation.

'Boldness' has the same meaning when we read Acts 4:31, 'After this prayer, the meeting place shook, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. Then they preached the word of God with boldness'.

The Message puts the same verse like this, 'While they were praying, the place where they were meeting trembled and shook. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak God's Word with fearless confidence. The whole congregation of believers was united as one-one heart, one mind! They didn't even claim ownership of their own possessions. No one said, "That's mine; you can't have it." They shared everything. The apostles gave powerful witness to the resurrection of the Master Jesus, and grace was on all of them'.

Wow what a verse to read over and over again.

What happens? 'Parrhesia' is what happens. Boldness, confidence, full trust, belief, trustworthiness and reliability in the third person of the Trinity the Holy Spirit.

I trust and believe that you will gain new confidence today. CR
