Samuel Barness has his Bar Mitzva

Continued from page 1

Samuel: You can become a believer at any age but it depends why you become a believer. If you become a believer just because you're in a Christian family then it's wrong, but if you come because you want to know God better, serve Him and praise Him then it's good.

Paul: Many Jews don't accept Jesus as the Messiah but you have, why don't Jews accept Jesus as the Messiah?

Samuel: There is some scripture which says their eye's are covered, so they can't see. A few years ago many Jews were coming to believe in Jesus, so the Jewish leadership were trying to take this from them. All throughout history there has been a lot of trouble.

True Stories

Paul: So now Jews are beginning to see Jesus as their Messiah?

Samuel: Yes, now we have in Israel 20,000 believers, Jewish believers.

Paul: Are they getting saved in special ways or is it through reading the Old Testament and realising that Jesus was the Messiah?

Samuel: I don't think most people see Jesus by reading just the Old Testament, they have seen people believe and the witness and testimony has touched their heart.

Paul: Are some having miraculous dreams and visions and coming to know Jesus that way?

Samuel: I read about a man who saw the name of Jesus in Hebrew written in fire in the sky and from that day on he became a believer.

Paul: Some people see the name Jesus or Yeshua in Hebrew as written as a curse is that true?

Samuel: Yes they describe it as Yeshu, which means His name and His memory shall be erased, Yeshua means Salvation. Most people don't understand it's just a name, they don't understand what it means. They're playing with the name of Jesus, because they don't understand the power in Jesus name. Also one of the Hebrew letters that is missing is the sign of the believers, the ein. It is the letter which makes the sign of the fish.

Paul: So were you born here in Israel?

Samuel: Yes in Jerusalem

Paul: What's it like for you being a Christian in school? Do you go to a Christian school or a secular school?
