Paul Calvert tells Sami's story, a young Palestinian from Bethlehem

Continued from page 2

Not long after Sami went out onto the streets to evangelise but the Israeli soldiers had put up a barrier and were stopping people from going through. There at the barrier was the Israeli soldier who beat Sami.

He said "they let you free"

Sami replied "I was innocent, may we pass?"

The soldier let him and his friends pass and the very first person to receive a gospel leaflet that day was this Israeli soldier. There was no bitterness, no anger; God had been doing a work.

The Bible says "all things work for good for them that love God". Sami was a lover of God.

Today Sami is still in Bethlehem, working with blind and mentally ill children in an organisation called "The House of Hope". CR
