Susanna Kokkonen from Christian Friends of Yad Vashem talks to Paul Calvert about Holocaust education, and their project to honour non-Jews who risked their lives and careers to help Jews during the Holocaust.

Susanna: Oh absolutely and that is why we have a sculpture in the Avenue Of The Righteous that is called The Unknown Righteous. We know that many, even at the end of the war, were murdered by their neighbours because of what they had done to help Jews during the war.
Paul: What is your project?
Susanna: It's important that more people know those stories. It's good that we have them here and we have the names recorded, but I think we need, especially in the Christian world, people to know the stories. Even if people have heard one name or two names, it doesn't mean that they are really able to have the context. I think it's important that people come here and really listen to our guides to get the full story.
Paul: And for people who can't come here you can go to the website and there are stories on the website, what is your website address?
Susanna: www.yadvashem.org. You can search by country, name, and by type of rescue, there are lots of different options. You can even look at the different countries and compare the numbers. I really recommend people do that.
