Everyone longs for home. Everyone wants to have some place to call home, to go home; somewhere where we can be safe and at peace.

We search for homes, spend all we have on homes, and even sometimes live for our homes.

It is one of mankind's deepest needs to have a place, not just to be sheltered from the elements, but a space we can call our own.

Sometimes we just can't find home. As hard as we look and search no place seems to fit the bill.

I think it's because it's not always a physical building we're looking for. Sometimes it's simply a heart issue, a longing to be filled, and a place we want so desperately to be but can't find.

My husband and I travel extensively, in fact we are sometimes only at our home about 10 days out of every month. Often people ask me how we do it. I'll tell you how, Tom and I have learned to find our home in each other. Wherever we are together, we are home.

We like our house, it's a good house, but it's not our all in all. Each other is our all, our perfect spot on this earth is in the presence of one another.

I think with all my heart that this is precisely what God intended for us all, that we would find our deepest need for home not in a physical building but in His heart.

The arrival of Jesus on this earth was the start of our journey home, and the day He rose again was our invitation to receive the keys to our new home!

God sent His Son so that we could come home once and for all.

In receiving Him you receive your permanent place of shelter from every storm; your perfect space to breathe, to grow, to love and be loved.

Homelessness is a serious problem in this world and it should never have been. Living with a generous God should result in us becoming a generous people. If we all moved in to our intended dwelling, and by that I mean 'God's heart', by accepting His Son, what a very different world we would live in.

One home at a time, one heart at a time, come home to Jesus.

God, His Son Jesus, the Holy Spirit, they are home, the place we always longed for. The Father is waiting to celebrate your homecoming!

"I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God's love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God's people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God." (Ephesians 3:16-19)
