Do you feel lost in the dark, down some dead end road?
Caught in a maze of paths?
Frightened, confused, your hope failing?
Don't know what to build your life on?
Maybe you are questioning the course your life is on?

One of the saddest stories I've ever heard is of an academically gifted A - level student who committed suicide just before his results came through. Ironically, he had passed all of his exams with high grades.

Maybe the fear of failure was a driving force behind his pain.
We live in a society where the outward appearance of success is highly regarded. However the inner picture of what's really going on in our lives can reveal another story.

I think one of the main factors that strongly influences our sense of esteem and personal value is if we have received from someone we admire a sense of approval and worth. If this is lacking, our inner life can have huge gaping crevasses that are vulnerable to collapse when any pressure comes to those areas. We can be driven to try and fill these voids by pursuing some ambition that we hope will give us esteem.

The good news is that when we stop trying to build ourselves up with the limited resources that we have ( if you like - building your house on the sand ) , and allow God to build our lives, we can be assured of solid building blocks of hope.
