Paul Calvert talks to Madleine Sara, professor at Bethlehem Bible College, about founding A Pot In His Hand Ministries, and the challenges facing women in Arab culture.

From my personal experience I used to be a very ordinary and simple young lady that didn't believe in herself. I had low self-esteem as a woman and my greatest dream was to get married and have kids.

Through my personal experience and the love of God, I've discovered that God has been doing great things in my life. So my passion was birthed from my own journey and my spiritual journey with the Lord.

This is the thing that every day I wake up in the morning and I have passion to go out and do and I do it with joy and contentment.

Paul: What is your prayer for Arab women here in Bethlehem?

Madleine: My prayer is that every women would rediscover her value and her new identity in Christ and help other women.

I pray that we will not stay self-centred, but look around, because when we look around we will see other women who need us. When we see that there is a need and people need us, we will leave our self-centeredness and comfort zone.

I also pray that we should not only focus on Christians or the same ethnic groups that we come from, but we need to open our eyes to see all the needy, because God moves with compassion towards humanity. Every woman should be opening her spiritual eyes and her heart with compassion to see the needy and stretch out their hands to help.
