Kingsway have put together a neat, value for money package of a CD/DVD capturing a live set which took place at the Woodmen Valley Chapel in Colorado Springs, USA in February 2005. The recording released in the USA was under the title 'Waiting For The Son'. I say a set, as the polite applause in between some of the early songs on the recording does not sit well with a full blown worship time. It's almost like the recording tries to fit between a live and studio sound. Although the rendering of well known songs from music maestros like Delirious? and Chris Tomlin is very good, the reserved handclapping after some of the songs does detract from the worship experience. Either go for it live or produce a studio sound. Mark Tedder runs a pool of 40 musicianaries in an international worship equipping ministry across the world, hence its name Worshiplanet. They travel the globe helping churches with their worship development. He himself has worked in the UK, Moscow, Prague, and Arkansas in the USA, before landing up leading worship at Woodmen Valley Chapel which has 6000 members and developing Worshiplanet. Mark has been involved with worship in the UK at Spring Harvest and is a drummer by music trade, self-taught guitarist, and singer/songwriter who has a vision of a worshipping world. He says, "Worship leaders must follow the example of the Old Testament leaders. We are simply to point the way to the Father. To exalt him and lead his people in praise of the living God." Using his own songs "Waiting For The Son" and "Become What You Believe" amongst others, with classics like "Famous One", "How Great Is Our God", "Draw Me Close" and "Jesus' Blood", Mark and his musicianaries do just that, even with mild applause on earth but hopefully greater in heaven.
