11 well known worship songs reworked for quiet reflection.

Integrity’s Music’s Chill Café series offers worshipful songs of reflection to help you find quiet spaces of time in today’s fast-paced world.
In 'Where You Are', well-known worship songs are combined with Euro-styled jazz, pop and R&B, providing a vibey, musical ambience perfect for prayer, meditation and relaxation.
Whether listening as background music or simply unwind and kick back after a busy day, the music, lyrics and atmosphere of Chill Café provide a relaxing way to chill out and renew the heart, body and soul.

Reviewed by Greg Inglis

This set brings together reworkings of 11 well known worship songs. As with a number of similar projects there is no information in the sleevenotes with regard to the musicians involved which is somewhat of a shame. The songs chosen translate easily into a chill out setting such as Matt Redman's "Heart Of Worship" though there are a few curveballs thrown in too. dc Talk's "Jesus Freak" makes a surprise appearance with a downbeat reading which removes the breakneck rap and loops the hook "People think I'm strange, does it make me a stranger?/My best friend was born in a manger," adding a sprinkling of jazz to create something truly reflective. MercyMe's "I Can Only Imagine" takes the original recording and adds a gentle electronic sheen to proceedings though most of the tracks here are new recordings. For me it's the Geoff Bullock penned "The Power Of Your Love" that typifies the album as a whole with its chilling female vocals and dreamy Royksopp-like production. Overall this a well thought out project which is great for personal reflection though not quite creative enough to merit essential purchase.
