Project Audio Storm presumably is so named as the 'main man' is called Storm Williams (great American name!). A look at the project website tells us that Storm has been playing in bands since the late '80s and the music on this album will appeal to fans of Pink Floyd, King's X and Tom Petty. Storm is joined by Evan Edmonds, songwriter, lead guitarist and expert with drum loops. Live drummers shake their heads! Much of the album is pleasant enough listening with a couple of highlights - the more funky "Selah" and the Floydish "Dance On The Water". The latter has a more obscure lyrical approach which is missing elsewhere on the album. On songs like "Morning Song" and "Allelujah #9" the worship style lyrics are safe and predictable. Vocally the album is not the strongest and the music generally has a retro sound with even more retro vocals. There are glimpses of some originality sprinkled throughout the disc, but there are some genuine low points including the final track "Wake Up". All in all one comes away with the impression of a worthy effort and a ministry which may well fulfil a role in a local church ministry, but at the end of the day there are so many Christians who do this sort of music much better.
