Reviewed by Stephen Luff

Here we have the songs which have made a major impact on Christians worldwide taken from seven albums, such as his classic hymn "In Christ Alone" (a live recording here), the beautiful "How Deep The Father's Love", the engaging "Beautiful Saviour" and the anthemic "The Power Of The Cross" plus 12 others. When listening to the collection, it is clear why comparisons have been made about Stuart with some of the great hymnwriters of the past. His ability to express biblical truth in unfussy but at times poetic language sets him apart from nearly all the other modern worship leaders. There is a bonus with this compilation - Mal Pope singing "How Long", a Townend composition featured on the Welshman's 'Reunion Of The Heart' album. It's a powerful plea for revival. One small criticism, once again Kingsway fail to inform us about the album sources of these tracks. But this is still an excellent, good value collection which serves as a powerful reminder of one of the modern Church's most gifted songwriters.
