This is a diary kept during the 5 years of his wifeís illness and records how they handled their lives in the light of it. It depicts a personal search for an authentic faith when all around appears to be crumbling. The epilogue examines in further detail some of the cheif concerns raised by their journey.

If you havenít read this book, you must. Moved by Stephen's complete honesty concerning Lesley's struggle with cancer, I couldnít put it down. I felt like I went on the journey with this family and was moved on every level of emotion from sadness to hope, joy and anger etc. How can this happen to such a wonderful person as Lesley, how can this happen to someone like Stephen, and what about little Charlotte (You will struggle to stop the tears from flowing, when you read what this little girl had to face).

If you have ever suffered any type of loss, you will connect with the author on every level. How do you come back from such a journey as this? The answer is, by Gods Grace, and this book will show you what grace is all about.

I cannot recommend this book enough, what it has taught me again, is that everything doesnít have to be alright. We believe that when we become Christians a wall of protection from lifeís struggles is placed around us and nothing but blessings and prosperity will accompany us all the days of our life. That isnít the way life is, we arenít promised this, we are promised that we arenít alone. The account in this book has showed me again, that we arenít alone in our struggles, that if we just cling to God, he will comfort us and bring us through to the other side, maybe not in this life, but in the next. We will be with him (Jesus) who went before us, to prepare a place for us.

My prayer as I finish this book is that lives will be changed by the people that read it and they will pass it on. God wastes nothing and I believe that Lesley will still have the ability to bring people to Christ, through this book.

May God bless Stephen and may God bless little charlotte, and hold her hand every day of her life, reassuring her that mummy is okay now.

Love & peace
Tony
