Look, is it just me? Am I alone in thinking that printing a CD sleeve which tells you who produced it, who engineered it, even who built the "cedar top nylon string classical" guitar featured but doesn't actually fell you, the listener, who's PLAYING is treating you, the CD buying public, with something perilously close to contempt. For years Christian record companies have been putting out praise and worship and/or instrumental albums with no artist credit and it's time the bizarre practice stopped. Whoever's playing here, he clearly plays clean, elegant lines on THOSE songs ("Silent Night", "The First Noel", "O Little Town Of Bethlehem", "Joy To The World" and 15 others) and though he's no Julian Bream, neither does he show the laboured approach of the once hugely popular Rob & Gilly Bennett. There is even the occasional surprise, the gently swinging jazz version of "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" which is about as 'classical guitar' of the album's subtitle as Jimi Hendrix. But I think we've already said enough about the sleeve...
