If you believe Christmas albums by Christian artists are simply a way of earning money by putting their voices to the same old Christmas songs and carols, then this will change that perception. Steven Curtis Chapman is one of America's top CCM stars and this album does his status no disservice. Produced by the very gifted Brown Bannister, this album successfully mixes the more traditional music of Christmas with some great new songs. "Going Home For Christmas" is a touching reminder that those Christian friends and relatives who will be missing this Christmas will be celebrating with their Lord. My favourite track though is "This Baby", which managed to grab my attention the first time I played it through. It skillfully portrays Jesus as a normal baby who was yet the Son of God. Great music, great voice, great production, great album.

I will never forget the first time that I heard the song "Christmas is all in the Heart"; I believe that I had bought the soundtrack first. Well, I just teared up, and teared up again when I tried to sing it. What a song for the season. Thank you Steven for that wonderful new song! I also saw him sing the song on a Christmas Special that Gary Chapman hosted with Amy Grant; Amy sang the background, what a beautiful collaboration of voices. The beautiful vocal of CeCe Winans can be heard on background on the original recorded version; superb!! I also had seen the video play on TBN; just luved it, especially the harmonica tag. I also like Steven's arrangement of "O Come All Ye Faithful"; he also sang this on the Christmas Special. It's almost time for the Christmas Music to be heard once again; no doubt I will be playing this one!! There are 6 new songs to be heard on this Christmas Collection. I luv "This Baby", Great song Steven! The last song "Precious Promise" what a GOD-sent song--Luv it!!It is so beautifully recorded.
The opening song"....The Music of Christmas" is another wonderful new song; luv the arrangement of this one as well. CCM artist Michael W. Smith co-wrote "Our GOD With Us"; another new song worth mentioning:a more mellower version of this song I would have luved to hear. Let us not forget that "Christmas is All in the Heart". GOD Bless! -Don
