Some confusion here about the title; the Word Catalogue refers to 'Hymns', whereas the sleeve clearly states 'Songs From The Heart', which is more appropriate, as only two of the 10 tracks could be described as hymnody, the rest being written by Yolanda and/or her two producers, Percy Bady and Gregory Curtis. The tone is predominantly inspirational, with a preponderance of lush orchestral arrangements which border at times on the OTT; the only tracks that escape the treatment are the opener "Only Believe", and track six. "God Will Take Care Of You", both of which have some cool urban grooves. Sadly, the rest of it is very much of a muchness, which, considering Yolanda's reputation and experience, is difficult to fathom; she is surely capable of producing something better than this.
