"For hundreds of years God has chosen seasons of awakening and of revival. Worship leaders from the Brownsville revival and the Sunderland Outpouring revisit the music that accompanied these moves of God." So reads the note on the reverse of this offering and hence the title. Lindell Cooley from Brownsville and Isabel Simpson from Sunderland are the leaders, the original idea for the recording coming from Isabel and her husband, Billy, who work with Revival Now!. The solo and backing vocals are superb throughout, wide ranging and full of fire and passion. With the creativity that's gone into musical arrangements, each song is given a fresh power. 11 songs, lasting 47 minutes, include the writings of Charles Wesley, William Williams, Elwood R Stokes, William Booth and James Rowe as well as songs in the public domain such as "Be Thou My Vision" and "Here Is Love". "Lion Of Judah", by Robin Mark, is also dovetailed with one of these past revival songs. This album is a credit to all involved, right from the opening "And Can It Be That I Should Gain", with Lindell's solo and the use of harmonica (an inclusion in worship I've really been moved by recently). The fact that I can't find a harmonica credit on the sleeve doesn't stop me giving this album full marks.
