Any album with such a title deserves some respect! Resolution are a four piece band who have emerged from Scott Blackwell's studio with a little gem. It's quite a departure in style for Blackwell to have produced something quite so left field. Though inevitably dance worthy, the sound here is more akin to New Order, perhaps with the occasional tinge of Pet Shop Boys. It's an almost monotonous sound with drony vocals, but that suits the mood perfectly. It's the lyrical stance that will grab most people's attention. Resolution have certainly pulled no punches with their provocatively conservative approach to contemporary issues. Zoo TV-type slogans run around the album sleeve: "Family values come from God, not TV", "Abortion is the killing of a human life", "Ethics are not situational" etc. Now you can appreciate the album's title! Amidst these strong songs crop up surprising but effective covers of Squeeze's "Tempted" and Larry Norman's "Watch What You're Doing". The whole slightly bizarre collection is rounded off by a laid-back dance groove with Psalm 91 read over it. Buy it and be challenged. I think they'd like that.

I loved this record, probably about 4 or 5 song that were really good and a couple that I would listen to over and over. What happened to Resolution though? One album, where are they now, did they retire or move on to other bands? Was it one guy or many?
