In 1997 these guys - Joe Club is a band not a person - were signed briefly to a big CCM deal but their debut album failed to impress the general public. This was their followup released in 2000 and is a mix of power pop and rock with a strong nod towards creating melodious moments! The title cut that opens things is the perfect example where singer Danny Deane effortlessly draws in the listener and this continues across the dozen tracks here. Songs like the driving "Hey Love" and the soulful "Innocent Man" sound strong enough but my feeling is that there is too much filler on the album for it to really make an impact. While a lot of the songs do the right things, building nicely into hooky choruses, etc, etc, there's still something missing overall to prevent this being a proper classic. Shame really!

I recently re-dedicated my life to the Lord Jesus Christ! I have the 1st two releases when they 1st came out. I have many, many CDs and Joe Clubs are the "cream" that rises to the top! I've must have listened to them maybe 100's of times!! They truly edify my spirit, soul & body! In my view THE LYRICS IS THE SONG!! The way that the band crafts the music with the lyrics that are saturated by the Holy Spirit is amazingly POWERFUL!!! My wish is that I could find another release and that more people would embrace this dynamic band!!!!
