New recruits to the Gotee label, there are potentially big things in store for this Nashville outfit. This is their first label release; the band have built up a large fanbase thanks to heavy touring and MySpace. Sonically, you can't argue with the quality of this self-titled album - the band are tight, the production is solid and thoughtful, with obligatory string sections for that BIG rock sound. As a touring band, OHH mix their own material with popular worship songs to serve as a ministry focussed band, rather than purely putting on a rock show. This worshipful element is never clearer than in tracks like "Every Breath" ("Every song that I sing/Resounds with your symphony") and the recent US single "Back To The Cross" where singer/guitarist Nick Joyce belts out the chorus "Back to the place where I was set free/Where his arms are wide enough for me/Everything I want for all I ever need". The acoustic closer "Angel's Song" is a thoughtfully written song about a lost friend. Lyrically, there's not much original to find - plenty of rock clichés "I'm broken"/"I'm falling"/"Here I am again" sort of stuff, but what is here is clear and accessible. But in truth this isn't heavy or edgy enough to entice the My Chemical Romance crowd, but will appeal to fans of Jeremy Camp. A solid release for a band with massive love for Jesus, energetic material and real potential.
