In case you haven't yet heard this collective are a group of 15 or so young people with a singular vision, "to make journey music that talks from the heart and tries to follow God's heart". They seek to make worship music "grown in a natural environment without the use of nasty pesticides". This, the collective's first record label release, features re-recordings of songs originally released on two independent EPs and wonderful they are too. The songs presented here range from brass and piano filled sing-a-longs such as the infectious "Exalt" to the simple bucolic charm of "Love Divine" and "God Is Near". Recorded at Castlewellan Castle and mixed by Sam Gibson, who has worked with big names including Delirious?, the album's clean, radio friendly production is sure to win it plenty of airplay. Particular standouts are American worship radical David Crowder joining with the collective on "Faithful" and the pounding "Thine Be The Glory" (not the old hymn) which moves confidently into rock territory - perhaps betraying Sam's influence at the controls. Lyrically the group skilfully manage to express the joy of a deep personal relationship with God without falling into cliché and create a rousing modern worship album. Expect to hear a lot more about this exciting ensemble in 2010 and beyond.

Pastoral pop from young Northern Irish team.

Rend Collective Experiment defies expectations even from the start of the bio. Not so much a band, more a bunch of friends collectively wondering how to make sense of the conundrum of life, God and community in and around their native Bangor, Northern Ireland.

What Rend Collective Experiment’s fifteen plus members add to the sound are lyrics that are both scriptural and contemporary, fresh and ancient.

The brass makes this album unique. The lyrics are inspired. Crowder's duet with Herron on Faithful is a hit! Best album I've heard in years!

This is a great worship album but I do feel it falls quite short of conveying just how much energy this band has live. It feels a lot more "pop" which frustrates me as someone who really likes heavier stuff and was really enthralled with them live.

I'm in love with this album :) I'm addicted. It stirs up all my thoughts, hopes, fears and how I share them with God and even the things I ponder. The first three tracks just put you in a good mood but Movements is super. The whole album just gets better each time you hear it. Buy it, this group of people are original, worship like I've not heard before. Broken Bread, Above Nothing Else, You are Love and Find Your Kindness to name some of my favourites.

Bought the album after hearing them lead worship at Transform 2011. Come On My Soul, Movements and You bled are my current favourites from this excellent album. Looking forward to "You are my vision"
