There are not many groups who win a Dove Award with their debut album but that's what happened to Group 1 Crew's self-titled CD. Now the Orlando, Florida-based trio return with another powerful fusion of crunk-laced hip-hop and radio-friendly R&B. Whether you go for the fast and furious rapping on "Gimme That Funk", the delicious examination of the difference between romantic fantasy and spiritual love on "Tonight" or, most impressive of all, the powerful neo classical orchestration and dynamic rapping as each group member explores "Keys To The Kingdom", this is brilliantly produced, spiritually powerful stuff from a group who are clearly moving up to the top league. As they say on the opening powerful cut "Movin'", "We aim to maintain." And maintain their standards they certainly have.
