Australia's homegrown songsmith Geoff Bullock comes up with the goods once more. This album is a collection of Mr B's songs, featuring performances by everyone else but himself, it seems. Great production, a tight band. But it's the usual mix of praise 'n' worship-type piano, obligatory strings and powerful vocals. The discerning punter will notice that every song, except one, has the same intro (tinkly piano/synth, etc). This is frustrating - after all, variety is the spice of life. This offering is disappointingly bland and could do with a bit of flavour. But, all is not lost, as I discovered one of my top 10 faves, penned by Mr B. "The Stone's Been Rolled Away", alas, falls flat on its nose. It's not a patch on the vamped-up, raunchy Ray Bevan version which grooves and moves like nobody's business! It's also a little incongruous on an album of floaty, drifting songs which trot along in the same vein. I kept waiting for it to transpose me to loftier heights. Sadly, it didn't. Nothing different here to inspire you.
