Phil Overton sways between guitar and piano led songs with the latter especially bearing strong similarities to Phil Collins' early days. The musicianship throughout the album is of a high standard as Phil exhibits his varied musical abilities but I found a sense of predictability running through of a lot of the songs and particularly the lyrical layouts. At mid point "Interval Moment" precedes "Why Should I Write A Song" during which Phil reflects on the reasoning behind his songwriting, that if someone hears a word then basically it's been worth it. Just as the album starts to draw to a close Phil Overton turns the focus on the triviality of the honours of this world in the piano driven "Life Is Taken". The music overall doesn't try to fit in with any modern trends as Phil stays true to what he knows and fair play to that. The hidden track (sshhhh!!!) tries to come to terms with the love that has been afforded to such undeserving beings. "Death defying Lord I'm trusting You whatever", not a bad way to sign off an album. Worth a listen.
