I think this must be the very first time I've ever awarded a 10, and in this case it's well deserved. As we hit the third quarter of the year, I'm prepared to put this forward as the best R&B gospel of the year. Ray, who wrote most of the tracks here, is a brilliant singer, although he echoes of R Kelly when he hits ballad mode. Such as "Conversation", on which he asks his bishop for guidance on taking a two year tour. Well, he drummed for R Kelly for five years. Kelly produced and featured on a track mentioned in the press release but expunged from the promo CD. Guess a duet with Kelly, who's produced other gospel acts in the past, is not a great career move right now, especially for such an upfront gospeller. Ray rocks with funky cuts like the swingbeat-ish "Livin' This Kinda Life" and "Lookin' For Love", and can melt the unbeliever with spiritual ballads like "Keep On Believin'". Top class production.
