New Zealander Andy Brown has a knack for poetic melodic songs that have a bit of a Martyn Joseph style caustic twist. Call it realism if you like but it's set to such compelling music that it slips by but don't be fooled! Like all good songwriters. Andy is a keen observer, story teller and commentator who often leaves the listener to draw their own conclusions. Musically acoustic with strong pop sensibilities, this is serious music with a dash of lyrical wit. Lonely songs of longing like "Love In A Foreign Place" and "Your Radio" pitch Andy as the sensitive vulnerable type whereas "Make Sure" and "Listening To The Moon" have the style and observations that any Martyn Joseph Ian would love. The musically and lyrically angry "I Don't Like You". "Watch The Satellite" and "God Is Not American" confirm that Mr Brown has doubts about American culture and televangelists! Plenty to enjoy if you like intelligent music which takes a sharp look at life from a Christian perspective without trying to save the world!
