The debut album from this Houston-based rock band was a turntable hit on Cross Rhythms radio but we've had to wait three years for the followup. The songs, inspired by stories of Inhabited's fans, are unmistakably heartfelt and their style is engaging. Essentially rock music, lead singer Sara Acker sometimes reminded me of Avril Lavigne, occasionally Gwen Stefani, though "Respect" was bizarrely reminiscent of High School Musical! One reviewer in face suggested that this was an "amalgam of Evanescence, BarlowGirl and Plumb." The album contains their current single "Hush" while "We Will Live" and "Are You With Me" have plenty of chunky guitars and socking drops brought to us by the sonically satisfying production of CCM hitmaker Monroe Jones. The lyrics are about real issues affecting young people: pressures to follow society, loss and God's truth versus what the world says. They make it clear that they will not compromise in their music, and the variety in the music and the convincing lyrics make it accessible to a range of tastes.
