Once a major CCM artist Stateside (albums on Sparrow), Michele then married ace guitarist Larry Carlton and slipped from view. Her voice has a silky MOR/pop quality almost the equal of Kelly Willard (with whom she once recorded many backup sessions). Now, at last, Michele's back and the results, so. Every track starts off by grabbing your attention - the producer is obviously a Jonathan King-style expert in making you sit up and take notice. Unfortunately Michele, for whatever reason, often fails to deliver. That's not to say that you won't find the album a 'nice' listen, it's just that, as with a good deal of those nice, American lady's albums, you end up not really listening to them. We have an album here where Michele's voice only does real justice to the big-number weepie, and whilst she may like to rock-it with the best of 'em it doesn't come off. Hence the best track here is "A Song Worth Singing" - quite appropriate really. "Celebration Day" and "Love Makes All The Difference" try hard without really breaking through the quality of the intros. Pity really, I wanted to like it a lot

What happened this this wonderful, mellow Christian singer? I love her music.

I love Michelle Pillar. I first heard her song "You were there all along" when I was in Africa in 1983 and when I moved to the United States, her cassette was one of the first music albums that ever I bought. Where is she now?

Michele Pillar is among the many ccm artists in my widespread ccm collection on vinyl and cd. Her 1982 lp (her debut I believe) which features "Walk Across Heaven" and duet "You were There all Along" with Lenny Leblanc; among my favorites. And then there are the songs "Reign on Me", "Look Who Loves you Now", and duet with Sheila Walsh "To Worship YOU":"Look who loves you" I have luved since the day I heard it on ccm radio the year it was released (1984). She has a nice quality vocal style, that gives her songs, a kinda popish polished style. It is soo nice to see her return to recording. GOD Bless! - Don
