This compilation by the alternative rockers from Florida was their last release for the Tooth & Nail label in 2007. It contains a mixture of stripped down versions of songs from their previous albums, covers and demos, all described and annotated in the sleevenotes. With the under produced feel of these recordings it is clear to hear the influences of this talented five piece. A late '80s alternative rock feel can be heard throughout, Stephen Christian's vocals sitting nicely over the haunting edge to this collection. I found the covers of Bob Dylan, Depeche Mode and The Smiths enjoyable and the demos of "Ready Fuels" and "Autobahn" worth a listen. However, some of the 19 tracks issued here are for Anberlin completists rather than more casual rock buffs. With its huge variety of songs and production quality there was little to hold 'Lost Songs' together and a comical ending with a games console version of "Glass To The Arson" is only funny for one play. Like many other demos and obscurities compilations this is a CD for hardcore fans only.
