I'm singing on it (somewhere), loads of old friends are playing on it (all over the place), and I'm off to Spring Harvest again this year. You bet I'm biased, and guilty of serious nepotism. Apart from a shaky Elvis-sound-alike vocal from Dave Bilbrough, not too bright mixing here and there, and a struggle in the mastering room from Denis Blackham, it's worth buying; come on folks, this is the live, full ambience experience of the multi-sited Spring Harvest, d'yuh un'erstan'? The music is simply beautiful; (best bass playing in the world from Steve Amadeo, for instance). I was at the Pwllheli version, so to hear Malc Garda leading on "When I Survey The Wondrous Cross" with Sarah Erasmus' haunting pipes was pure nostalgia and pure genius. (Any Irish beverage connotation not intended). The mixture of styles, delivery, skills and performances are all excellently thought through, if not led by the Spirit, which they all seem to be. You could play this CD anytime, anywhere. And there's all the composers we have come to know and love - Dave Bilbrough, Kendrick, Robin Mark, Steve Thompson (and extended family), David Fellingham, to name but a few, with some of them performing as well. One of the best Spring Harvest compilations to date, with that ability to draw people into worshipping and praising the living God, which is, after all, what it's all about, ain't it?
