LED are a west country team specializing in schools evangelism who are stylistically not dissimilar to the gone-but-not-forgotten Tribe (in fact the Tribe's J Mhondera produced three of the four tracks here). Firmly within the pop dance genre it's clearly targeted at tweenie and teenage tastes. The most appealing song here is the piano-led ballad "Beautiful" though it's never a good idea to cover a classic (and within the field of tweenie pop TBC's original version is just that). The bouncy "Right Way" is more of a social commentary on youth culture - "You got me chasing all the fashion in the magazines". "Just Dance", with its insistent thumping beat is a form of mission statement for the group - "Show a little love do the God thing/The message we bring is in the meaning". The final musical track, "Loves Ya" raises some meaning of life questions - "There's gotta be more to what life's got in store", acknowledges "all the hurt that is built up over the years", and offers hope - "There's someone who will love you". Fair enough there are no major philosophical insights here, but the tunes are catchy, the words are clear, and these songs should go down well with their target audience. By the way, there's a fifth, unlisted track which is a mini-preach.

Think this is a great debut EP by LED, the new south-west schools band based in Plymouth. The music engages you straight away with every track a winner, you find yourself playing it again and again. The message in the songs is relevant and really touches the mark for the young, so often hurting generation in school right now. What I like most is that the words of the songs are clear (although they have included the lyrics on the EP sleeve as well). Really strong hidden track too.
LED's band launch in Plymouth city last month, with many more songs, was even better than expected - knew they were good but they turned out an amazing performance and owned the stage. Only regret is that this is an EP not an album - something to look forward to in the future as this band has a lot more to give!

What Fantastic songs!! The lyrics really make you think which is great for the young people with so much going on in their life and maybe need a positive message to help them through difficult times. As music is a big part of lifestyles LED have done an amazing job with their catchy tunes and fantastic messages in the lyrics. Also a great group to go see preform such a great atmosphere is created when they are on stage.
Keep up the great work LED and im looking forward to hearing more in the future!!

Great CD love all the tracks from rock, to ballad done with professionalism - something for everyone! And if you don't like it pass it on cos he hidden track has a clear gospel message.

Interestingly the hard evidence is showing that this group's music is actually appealing to a wider audience than just the teenage/tweenie age range. Overhearing the music being played in one secondary school's assembly on their way to work, primary school staff were very keen to know what was going on and were clearly loving it! 'When are they coming to us then?' was a frequent query so maybe LED has a wider appeal than at first thought. Also, how great to hear the gospel clearly presented as a hidden track, isn't that what it's all about? Love the 'Beautiful' track by the way and have been amazed when non-christian friends have said it's also their favourite.

Wow I think the fact that a track from this EP is number 6 in your charts at the moment speaks volumes of how much young people love this band! Come On LED, I'm loving your message, your work and your meaning!
I won't be surprised if we see a lot more of these guys in the cross rhythms charts in the future!!! X
