This album is jam packed with some deep and meaningful poetic lyrics. On the first listen I found a lot of the words just washed over me but I found the whole experience very atmospheric. Perhaps Omega could have made some more interesting sounds or samples, as I fear that some people might find the wall of rap too intimidating. When Omega wasn't telling a story most of the words just drifted by. Nevertheless, there were enough intriguing references to make me want to listen again and follow all the lyrics. And every track is bursting with comments on nearly every aspect of Christianity. Even with the lyrics in front of me I don't think I got every cultural and biblical reference. I was particularly impressed by the way Omega doesn't pull any punches. When he discusses judgment and Hell he is clear that for the unsaved "G is for Gnashing not for Grace." And it's not very often that a song that tells the Christmas story includes Herod's slaughter of the children. A couple of tracks are about the end times and the book of Revelation but Omega carefully uses some obviously creative imagery such as quarterbacks, dinosaurs, computers and AIDS that neatly side step the possibility of getting into any serious theological controversy. I also liked the way that Omega repeatedly hits us with numbers such as 66 for the books in the Bible, 180 degrees for repentance as well as talking about 187 ways to praise the Lord. This album takes some listening to but it is well worth the effort. There is some excellent hip hop here and no woman gets beaten up!
