The Seattle-based band produces a hard rock album.

Emery are no strangers to success, having played thousands of shows all over the world during their career. Having radio success and critical acclaim from each of their albums. “...In Shallow Seas We Sail” brings Emery full circle back to their roots as one of the premier bands in their genre. Combining the intensity that put them on the map, with the experience that years on the road will bring to musicians. Returning to work with Producer Aaron Sprinkle (Anberlin, Mae, Emery “The Question”) to create their best sounding record of their career, with the best song writing of their tenure. “...In Shallow Seas We Sail” will not disappoint for old fans and is sure to secure them plenty of new enthusiasts.

The unique fast-paced blend of screams, harmonies, and tale-telling lyrics of the first track, "Cutthroat Collapse", leave no doubt that Emery are back on the scene and more polished than ever. Hailing from Seattle, the band have gained attention internationally, and this latest release is no exception to their record. Containing quite a mix of styles, the record messes with your eardrums in a pleasant way, while also giving you lyrics worth pondering. The album definitely highlights the classic hardcore side of the band, with passionate growls and heavy guitar rifts. However, sandwiched in the middle, "A Sin To Hold On To" departs from the likes of the aforementioned style, embracing a more poppy sound while highlighting the raw talent of the harmonizing trio, Toby Morrell, Josh Head and Devin Shelton. Lyrically, there's also a healthy range of meaningful themes, from the relationship side of "I've Got A Way" to the anthem "Inside Our Skin", reminding listeners to live in a way that aligns their lives with God's will. Ending with the mellower, more contemplative "Dear Death Part 1" and the contrasting sequel "Dear Death Part 2", Emery manages to successfully tie the album together while solidifying their original approach to hardcore.
