Reviewed by Ewan Jones

This double CD offers albums from 2002 ('Heart And Soul') and 2004 ('Redemption Songs') and the songs contained on them have dated to some degree. Brighton-based Kate's songs are mostly joyful and funky - the arrangements rely heavily on soulful gospel choir backing, intricate bass, brass sections, Hammond organ and tight guitars. These are a mix of congregational and performance tunes that are solidly written and performed, if not entirely memorable. If you've been blessed by the lady's ministry and missed these albums the first time around you may want to investigate this package.
