This is the best "worship"Christmas album released in a long time. Chris Tomlin brings such great depth of worship into many of these carols. Put on "O Come All Ye Faithful ", close your eyes and just get lost in the true essence of this fantastic carol. Tracks including "Angels We Have Heard On High" and "Hark The Herald Angels Sing" get the formulatic Tomlin approach, which for worship, in my opinion, always works! Check out The beauty of "Winter Snow" led by Audrey Assad, a beautiful song with it's laid back jazzesque influences and what a gorgeous voice Audrey has. The live feel with the band of singers and worship leaders also adds another dimension to this album.
I got moved to tears by several of these tracks because it drew me to my Saviour Jesus Christ, Emmanuel, King of Kings and Lord of Lords! I just want His name to be renowned and truly brought back into Christmas - for wihout him there is no Christmas. If only we could get some of the shops to play this album instead of the same old same old, that is churned out and has little or no relevance to Christmas.
I have a few Christmas albums which I treasure, including Michael W smith and Amy Grant but this will sit at the top of the pile. Well done again, Chris Tomlin. I'd rate this 10/10
