The hugely respected singer/songwriter Agnew and Ardent Records are to be congratulated for putting together a compilation of tracks old and new which brings new focus onto one of the most gifted singer/songwriters in the whole US church. Starting with a spine tingling new hymn "Glory To Our Great Redeemer" which is rich in theological insight and sounds like something that Fernando Ortega might have delivered and the reflective "Nearer Home" this set then takes a backwards journey, cherry picking songs from Agnew's previous five albums and ending with "Grace Like Rain", an appealing reworking of Newton's "Amazing Grace" (the title track of his album debut of 2003). Some of his US Christian radio hits are here including "Our Great God" (a duet with Rebecca St James) and "My Jesus" (from his 'Reflection Of Something' album) while "In The Middle Of Me" features a truly wonderful blues-soaked guitar riff and demonstrates Agnew's impressive eclecticism. The songsmith's decision to go outside the album versions of his tracks on two or three occasions pays off hugely. A little-heard version of "Martyr's Song" produced by Matt Bronleewe is a standout and the original voice-and-guitar demo of "On A Corner In Memphis" is even more impactful than when first heard on the 'Better Questions' album and shows that Agnew has the skill to write narrative songs every bit as good as Andrew Peterson. All in all 'From Grace To Glory' is a salient reminder of just how good this singing Bible teacher actually is.

Todd is obviously an enormously talented singer and writer, but more than that he has become an extremely effective and impactful speaker and teacher of the Word. To God be the glory...for the things He has done!

I have been a "Todd" fan since his early days and have driven all over Central Fl to see him, from the East coast to the West, even to a campground on a cold (for FL) November evening (2007?). Looking forward to getting hearing the album.
