EMI have collected together a selection of contemporary songs that speak of the love and ultimate sacrifice that Jesus made. It is stated on the album sleeve that the music collection can be used in small groups when reflecting on the cross, during communion and in personal times of worship. With only mainly American artists on board, the collection is lacking the great depth of British and Australian worship music reflecting the cross, with the exception of the inclusion of "Lost In Wonder" by Oxford worship pastor Martyn Layzell. However, the album includes songs written by Matt Redman (Robert Lowry's hymn "Nothing But The Blood" with the chorus by Redman) and Stuart Townend ("How Deep The Father's Love For Us"). The classic hymn "When I Survey" by Isaac Watts is also re-worked by Chris Tomlin and Matt Redman in the form of "The Wonderful Cross". The album is an interesting concept with other songs sung by Jeremy Camp, Charlie Hall (two), Avalon, Steven Curtis Chapman, Newsboys (I know they're Australian!), Starfield, Sanctus Real and Nichole Nordeman (two) but which needed tighter editing and a wider selection to make this an outstanding album. Nevertheless, in the main this compilation works well enough.
