This little hard back is a handy size and a tie-in with the worship master's latest album that could accompany you places and be read in bite-size portions. There are lots of books about worship and this is certainly one to read and keep on the shelf for reference and inspiration, especially if you are a songwriter. A book that is sure to be well-thumbed, it introduces us to the greatness of God using our human language and understanding, yet always pointing to the indescribable greatness of God. It reminds us about reverence and awe, about friendship with God, about the paradoxes of God and about his creativity. Matt uses his skills with language to help us to focus on God in a fresh way, to discover God for ourselves and to challenge and inspire us to get face down with God. I liked the approach to the whole topic of meeting God, seeing God, looking for God and experiencing his presence. Quote from Mike Pilavachi, "Matt's teaching and poetry informs the mind and warms the heart." That sums it up very well!

True worship starts with the surrender of the heart.
Facedown worship always begins as a posture of the heart. It's a person so desperate for the increase of Christ that they find themselves decreasing to the ground in act of reverent submission. A soul so captivated by the Almighty that to bend low in true and total surrender seems the only appropriate response.
