This album from Nairobi-born Lynette has been 12 years in the making. Four of the songs here were written in 1994. During dark times, Lynette found inspiration in the Malvern Hills, the area where she has lived most of her life. Through her love of the hills she found herself turning to the Psalms as a source of comfort. With the exception of one song based on the psalm-like Isaiah 43, all the compositions on this CD are lifted virtually word for word from the Psalms. No surprise then that "I Lift Up My Eyes To The Hills" is included in this set. Many of the Psalms featured are the most familiar, eg, "Lord You Have Searched Me And Know Me", "The Lord Is My Shepherd", and "Where Can I Go From Your Presence". Initially Lynette, who teaches music, considered the songs to be personal rather than for sharing with a wider audience, but has been encouraged to release the songs so that others might find the same encouragement. The album was recorded in Texas with producer Brian Konzelman who also plays keyboards. The only other instruments are Lynette's - voice, piano and violin. Her expertise musically is very clear. Her voice is more classical than pop. The result is 30 minutes of relaxing and reassuring songs crammed with biblical truth.

Thank you Lynette for the CD which has so obviously come from your own experience and heart. The singing, the music, the words have all just ministered to me at the right time. Very powerful and moving. I hope the Lord continues to use this gift you have.
