Reviewed by Tony Cummings

The lyric of the opening track goes "I've read the stories and the players, at least a million times" which could almost apply to a band like Siloam. This foursome from Ottowa, Canada play the kind of classic heavy metal which now exists in its own niche in rock, vilified and laughed at by those unmoved by the crunching power chords and shrieking vocalists but beloved by headbangers young and old. Many of the licks, rhythms, melodies and vocal mannerisms will be recognised by those who like their rock RAW though this team of musicianaries ring the changes nimbly on "Daddy's Little Girl" by introducing a funk bass and some amusing spoken cutaways. But mostly its clanking riffs, and anthemic choruses as familiar as a favourite old leather jacket. There's some seriously hot axe, a moving mega ballad "Lost In The Rain" and very generous playing time. Timeless rock packing quite a spiritual punch.
