Got to confess I loved her debut single "Don't Wait" which mixed gospel, dance and R&B together so a new EP from Dee Moore is worth celebrating. What shocked me most was the fact that she has leapt forwards in terms of production and has recorded five tracks that fly the flag for British gospel music. Based in Birmingham and already established on the local scene, 2001 sees Dee touring more widely in the UK to promote this EP and she should be proud of her achievements. Dee writes her own material and the songs really minister. The opening version of "Reaching Out To You" is a vibey bit of R&B as Dee reminds listeners that in the middle of their hurts God cares. There's even a dance remix of the song which has plenty of funkiness. "Let Go And Let God" sounds like state of the art R&B as Dee passionately reminds us that there comes a time when we have to let God carry the burdens of our souls. The remix features an excellent contribution from raga man Spanna. The third song on the album is "Defined", a valuable lesson in allowing God to create our identity rather than the accusations of the enemy. Powerful stuff packaged with a fresh gospel R&B flavour that deserves to see Dee emerge as one of the UK's leading gospel artists.
