The Continentals have been making "contemporary" Christian music for over 40 years. What started as one youth group has become a global phenomenon with over 70 Continental groups touring worldwide. This release from the recording version of The Continentals is a collection of songs that tackle subjects as diverse as discipleship ("We Are Here To Change The World") and war ("Letters Rrom War") to covers of well known, and well covered, "classics" such as "You Raise Me Up" and "Kum Ba Ya". The album starts promisingly enough with the up tempo declaration of faith "Committed To The Call" with its strong percussive rhythms and group harmonies and continues with "He Loves Without Limits" with its hip-hop beat fused perfectly with Spanish guitar. Unfortunately as the album progresses the originality wears thin and soon slips into rather dull soft pop arrangements. But having said that, The Continentals continue to expand their mission and their work in evangelism and worship.
