First impression, scanning the lyric sheet, is of intense, well structured messages that build bridges which ease the receiver gently into place before delivering the punch. The style of writing displays a wisdom and maturity that's a big plus for the writer Barry Blazs, the group's singer and multi-instrumentalist. This trio's style is a kind of billowing, pacey, danceable pop/rock, kind of dreamy on tracks like "True Love". Blazs is a better vocalist on easier-paced tracks where he has time and space to use the expressiveness of his technique. Some tracks carry very feverish, almost Latin rhythms which are quite captivating. "Satellite Babies" has a funky rhythm, some neat effects, evolving into some solid, pounding rock, one of the most interesting tracks. "Chasing The Dragon" has the predictable theme of drug abuse, as seen so openly on the streets of Amsterdam. The song's tense construction conveys the torture of the scene vividly. In all, a programme of relevant songs, handled with a good deal of attention to detail by the talented techno group.
