Reviewed by Chris Tozer Although the cover of this album shows Kim Hill wearing a tee shirt emblazoned with the face of Willie Nelson, make no mistake - this is most definitely not a country album. Returning to the rock roots of the albums that made her a household name on American Christian radio back in the early '90s Hill has come up with an impassioned collection of gut wrenching songs that are particularly targeted at the Christian women to whom she ministers. Hill believes that we all have some sort of brokenness in our lives and when we learn to embrace it. to be honest about it, we can come out as more whole. The top quality artists involved in writing songs for the album include Margaret Becker who co-wrote "Wide" and Mark Lee of Third Day wrote "Lover Of My Soul" and "Deeper". Jill Phillips also contributed three songs to prove that Hill can still command a great deal of respect in Nashville. But names of themselves do not guarantee quality. I have to confess that I found the music lacking in originality and the lyrics in much the same vein. Fans of the husky-voiced singer will doubtless disagree and buy the album but in truth it's not the top grade comeback we'd hoped for. More from Kim HillSee all...

I think that it ought to be known that much of the material on this album came out of Kim's own experience - the broken thing being her marriage.
