Sue is a life long member of the Salvation Army and contributor to music ministry at a local and national level. She is also part of the Three Sopranos trio and a deputy head teacher. Her powerful soprano voice is heard here on an interesting and eclectic mix of MOR, pop and worship songs. Sue's operatic style occasionally sounds like a less shrill version of Sheila Walsh while there are also echoes of Susan Boyle, with a definite "music from the musicals" vibe in places reinforced by an enjoyable duet from Wicked called "For Good". This song has very different meaning when in a context of a relationship with God as opposed to a relationship between two main characters in a musical play. Musical arrangements feel "big", like in musical theatre, but are based on a tight three piece of piano, percussion and guitar - one of the standout tracks being a cover of Chris Eaton's "Breath Of Heaven". Another notable duet piece is a male/female number called "In The Shadows" that could have come straight from a West End stage. In places the pop feel of the tracks can jar slightly with Sue's trained voice, but on the whole this is a pleasant enough set.
