Yes siree! A cracking album, presumably her debut, from an American lass who could progress to Nashville's top drawer if justice is still a commodity in Nashville. Dana sings with soulful R&B-orientated effervescence and there's also enough R&B sass in the deft production of Matt Schwartz and programmer David Floyd for this album to catch the ears of R&B gospel fans as well as the Margaret Becker/Susan Ashton etc CCM crowd. What makes the album outstanding is a set of top quality songs all written and co-written by Dana. Grab the opener ("You ask for the moon/He'll give you the heavens/You reach for the stars/But he's given the Son/You search for the truth/He is the answer"). Standouts everywhere, the dance-oriented "I Believe In You" (though I'd love to hear a heavier Scott Blackwell mix), the haunting mid-tempo "Say A Little Prayer" and a dazzling rap "Gradual Decay" on the decline of contemporary culture. The only slip up is a maudlin ballad "Sharing One World" which comes complete with singing kiddywinkers. But elsewhere it's top grade funky pop gospel.
