Some writing has already appeared under the "alternative worship" banner more akin to neo New Age speculation than Christian teaching. So it's heartening to see this volume is written by two experienced alt worship figures who are not prepared to allow zeal for experimentalism and fresh creativity to spin off into non-biblical error. The book is divided up into a series of readings, meditations, etc appropriate for the various Church seasons: Christmas, Lent, Easter, Pentecost. There are plenty of practical ideas with only one or two being the wrong side of wacky. Essential accompaniment to the book is the CD-ROM which comes with the package so that you have images, music track, video loops and animations collated from various alternative worship groups including Host, Grace, Sanctuary an the Late Late Service ( the latter the Edinburgh home for Doug Gay). If you're looking for a resource to push your church beyond the increasingly predictable confines of the charismatic praise up, this is for you.
