There have been a steady stream of American male duos who disappear after an album or two (East West, Jackson Finch) so we can but hope that these Nashville-based newcomers stay around a bit longer. Certainly Ben Kolarcik and Justin Unger have got excellent, huskily expressive vocal chops and there's plenty of pop rock bite in the crisp production by the various producers assembled to help Across The Sky. In fact, it's Havoc (producers Jim Cooper and Kenny Lamb) who provide many of the songs here though after the vertical lift of "Found By You" and "Give It All Away" the effect is lessened by the puerile teen romance lyrics of "Everywhere She Goes". Overall though, this is competent Nashville CCM, though I still have my doubts that Across The Sky will be around for the long stretch.

What a fresh new sound for the millenium years!! This is a great cd!! I had seen the video "Broken World"awesomely shot!; I was taken by it immediately!!This song hits home to all the listeners!a definite connection is made! The lyrics have all been said before, but not like in this song! Ben & Justin you nailed it!! thanks! I was disappointed that the above writer did not even mention this song! "Shooting Star" is also another favorite that follows "Broken World" on the cd. I really like the song "Persistence";oh yeah check out the rendition of Michael W. Smith's '93 song "Do You Dream of Me?"
It is not a bad recording and features another female on background, Jennifer Morrison: she has a nice sound. It would have been nice to hear more from this great duo after this debut. Anyone know updated info about them, i.e. plan to record anymore at all? Thanks! GOD Bless! -Don
