The Elms are one of the coolest rock bands to emerge from the Christian scene in the noughties and these days are trying to make it in the mainstream. Judging from the two videos here, they definitely have something! There's the fun of "Hey Hey" with cheer leaders and street level locations and the band playing in the middle of a traffic island, wandering around supermarkets and visiting the laundrette, etc, etc. It all works pretty well. The second video is for "Speaking In Tongues" and again is shot on the street and other suitable earthy locations. You also get the band's commentary on making the video. Here's an American band doing what they do best - rocking! But there's a depth to the band that you might not realise and the bonus documentary "The Elms, American Band" shows the band's spiritual passions and tells the story of how lead singer Owen nearly died in a traffic accident. It's all cool stuff.
