This DVD is the 18th live worship album Hillsong have offered up, and it has to be said they have pretty much perfected the art. Recorded in March 2009 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre, in addition 13 tracks of often exuberant and typically Hillsong-sounding musical tracks the contents here include footage of the preparation for the three separate gigs from which the finished product is drawn. It may be observed (unkindly, for sure!) that Hillsong need to do big gigs to ensure there are more worshippers than members of the band, but it is certainly true that the result is an extremely big, polished and effective production. As regards musical content, in this instance it is questionable how many of the songs are of the highest calibre and would be effective without the trademark Hillsong treatment (multi-layered, echoed vocals; multi picked guitars set against sustained keyboard chords and under-pinned by driving, busy drums). Some well known names feature in the 75 minutes of music, including Darlene Zschech and Reuben Morgan, and there is the usual quota of footage of members of the congregation lost in worship. If Hillsong does it for you, you will find plenty to enjoy in this offering.
